Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture points are traditionally treated with needles but may also effectively be used for acupressure, electro-stimulation or the use of pellets/seeds. The advantage being that they can manually be pressed on – or stimulated as needed.

Auricular acupuncture was first used in France in 1956 by Dr. Paul Nogier. He noticed that patients’ backache was cured when theyreceived a burn on the ear. Intrigued, he started mapping the ear, pinpointing the spots that correlate to various organs or systems in the body.

The idea is that the various points on the ear correspond to different organs and systems within the body. And while the most effective method of stimulating these points is with needles, ear seeds/pellets were first applied at the end of an acupuncture session to prolong the effects. Tiny pellets, called ear seeds, come already attached to skin-colored adhesive surgical tape, and are applied to precisely located points on the outer ear, they may be actual seeds from the vaccaria plant or tiny metal beads.”

Auricular Stimulation for Weight Loss.

These seeds are not permanent, but can be worn continuously, until they are removed at the next appointment or until they fall out naturally, which is usually in three to five days. Pressing the ear seeds might help stop a panic attack, a stress eating impulse or cravings for smoking or drugs.

Our five-point acupuncture stimulation therapy is available to help with appetite control, the suppression of cravings, boost overall weight loss and for the added benefit of active participation in the program.

There are no side effects, there is no discomfort, in other words, ear seeds are completely safe to use and very effective with emotional or pain related issues.
