The lymph system is a network of lymph vessels, tissues, and organs that carry lymph throughout the body. Lymphedema occurs when lymph is not able to flow through the body the way that it should.
Most of the lymphatic vessels have valves like those in veins to keep the lymph, which can clot, flowing in the one direction (toward the heart). Lymphatic vessels drain fluid called lymph from tissues throughout the body and return the fluid to the venous system. Our therapies are designed to improve function, reduce symptoms of limb numbness and promote better circulation.
The use of an alternating pressurized treatment increases circulation due to limb lymphedema, inadequate limb venous return, prevention of deep vein thrombosis, edema, varicose veins, swollen ankles, tired feet, hemiplegia (paralysis of muscles), leg injuries, prolonged bed rest and/or physical inactivity, prevention and treatment of muscle atrophy, intermittent claudication (pain in thigh, calf, or buttocks. that is painful when walking), diabetic foot problems and to improve mobility of elderly patients
